I got a close photo with the cheetah!

Today, we took a trip through kruger national park. There was a menagerie of animals located in the african safari such as the infamous Cheetah. This species has adapted to live in the south african grasslands with its spots for camouflage, and lightweight frame for faster speeds. Even though they are known for their fast speeds, they can not run for very long.

Our tour group with the cheetah!

The cheetah even jumped onto our tour vehicle! Sadly we did not get that photo as we were too busy trying to not be eaten. It was very surprising as cheetahs move quietly through tall grass to sneak up on prey. A common American house cat acts very similar to this deadly and precise hunter. "I am an African. I owe my being to the hills and the valleys, the mountains and the glades, the rivers, the deserts, the trees, the flowers, the seas and the ever-changing seasons that define the face of our native land" -Thabo Mbeki, second president of south africa.
